I did a test with Myheritage and got these results:

I then uploaded the Myheritage raw data to Gedmatch/Eurogenes and got these "oracle" results, using the K12 calculator:

From what I know about my ancestors on my mother's side, they all lived in a region smack in the middle of present day Germany since times immemorial, Germans from central casting, so to speak.

I also believe that all of my father's ancestors were (West) German, although when I saw the Eurogenes result, I recalled something my late father once said in passing, namely that he had heard that there were ancestors from France. He didn't know any specifics, though, and he added that this claim could be totally wrong.

But the Eurogenes results would at least appear to make this French connection somewhat plausible, wouldn't it?

As to the meaning of the "Scandinavian" or "Baltic" admixture, I have no idea about how to interpret this.

Any hints or ideas are highly appreciated.

Yes, it looks like your French connection may be confirmed. You could also run Oracle and see what are the peoples you have more affinity with, if french show up with some frequency and a very small distance (under 5, for example), you could assume there's some truth in it. Also, there's EthioHelix K10 + French, that's mostly refers to Africa but adding French, that acts like the only european population. As for the Scandinavian/Baltic, could it be an ancient origin? Try Gedrosia.

Waiting for my FTDNA upload. I don't like MyHeritage at all, for example that in their trees women receive their husband's surnames, but I'm just curious and possibly with more matches, because their company is the only one I regularly see tv commercials, so new Dutch customers may only know about this company.

I complain a lot about MyHeritage, but you can change how surnames of married women are shown somewhere in the options.

    Their estimates (FTDNA upload):

    NW European 50.5%
    English 30.4%
    Balkan 14.5%
    Chinese and Vietnamese 2.4%
    Central Asian 0.9%
Nigerian 1.3% (like many of you)

    compare with FTDNA:

    British Isles 53%
    West/Central Europe 26%
    Southeast Europe 16%
    SE Asia 3%
    NE Asia < 1%
    Central Asia < 1%
    Oceania < 1%

but the reason to upload was of course to find more Dutch matches: and indeed, they are more present there. I was particularly surprised to see my 2nd cousin on there, matching me as expected!
    Ancestry (approx.): ~88.25% West-European; 6.25% Jewish; ~4.50% Indonesian; ~1.00% (South?)-Indian.

    -Italian 18.5%
    -Greek 10.1%
    East Europe 12.7%

    Ashkenazi Jewish 1.8%

I honestly have no idea where the eastern european comes from yet I see it in varying %'s across almost all tests I have done. Most peg me at Ukraine or Belarus.

Unless its just historical admixture, the only sensible thing i can think of is that my mom is 25% Swedish (25% on paper, still waiting her actual results), so maybe its via that route? Although then it should be is 2-8% range and not almost 13%

The Southern European is Calabrese, and while I have been trying to get up to speed with this DNA thing Im still trying to figure out if the Italian % came from Sicily prior to Calabria as I have exhausted the ability to look back and get birth records.
