    Gravetto-Danubian,

The Roman samples from England are available in the data files of both Basal-rich K7 and Global 10, yet the Hinxton is not in any of them. But the Anglo-Saxon sample from the Roman study is in the Basal-rich K7 data file.

Question: Aside from having some different populations, what is the difference between running nMonte on Basal_K7 vs the Global10 PCA coordinates? My results really don't look that terribly different from runs w/ S/C Asians using PCA coordinates...

They are matching pretty nicely. I should try "pruned" nMonte runs for the BRK7.
I don't think the Global10 PCA is based upon ADMIXTURE -- otherwise we would have got percentage scores for components.
I think it is similar to how the 23andMe PCA is structured. I could be wrong though. I was wondering this question myself.

Global 10 is just a PCA. The great thing about it is that it will never be out of date. I'll just run whatever ancient samples are published, and they can be used for modeling ancestry. It's also possible to vary the number of components, which might be useful in removing noise for some groups.

The K7 might become obsolete eventually, like if South Asian Mesolithic samples are published and they end up looking a bit funny when forced into the K7 components. But maybe they'll look pretty good, considering that there are three East Eurasian clusters plus ANE. Hard to say till we see them. I might have to add a South Asian cluster, or not.
