    Question FTDNA BY SNP Details

Unfortunately, FTDNA does not have a place where they post details about their new SNPs (BY name, Build 37 position, ancestral/derived values, placement on their trees).

As a haplogroup project administrator (for R-U1060 I am unable to place the BY names with the unnamed position number.

I have read elsewhere where Mikewww has posted somewhere a listing of many of these SNPs somewhere, but I can no longer find this message.

Can SKS post this link to this forum please?

    Many Thanks!

Thomas Krahn (aka YSEQ) continues to maintain the best details about YSNP naming. However, it only covers those YSNPs that are being requested by YSEQ customers (which is much broader than most think). ISOGG stepped up and blessed this tool as leading edge:

Also, Alex Williamson's Big Tree does a good job for R-P312 which is more complete but limited to R-P312 for now. Just search for the YSNP of interest and then click on the block of YSNPs for mapping details:

This is about a week old.

Anyone can request BY SNP position-anc-der information by posting a request on the FTDNA customer contact form. I was able to get the whole file via dropbox but they have no formal system for publishing this. I've asked for this for over a year and they say they have a plan to make it available from the GAP tool. I wouldn't hold my breadth.
