Interpret/Guess Ancestry of Parents Based on WeGene Results, please

For some reason when I attempt to load the pictures my laptop loads for a longtime and crashes, so I'm just gonna type out the percentages......do pardon that.

    Mother
    ----------
    Finnish/Russian- 50.33%
    Spanish- 20.12%
    Balkan- 11.64%
    English- 8.32%
    Ashkenazi- 0.53%
    Others- 0.01%

Interestingly the old version had her Ashkenazi percentage about Literally what it would be in actuality (she is 1/16). This new version trims it the hell down...haha

    Father
    ---------
    French- 46.96%
    Hungarian- 29.10%
    Balkan- 12.57%
    Finnish/Russian- 10.62%
    English- 0.35%
    American- 0.33%

Guestimate, if you will. Thank you.

Would you say these results are somewhat accurate? Based on my experience and others, we gene is pretty much useless for euros

Wegene is somewhat getting better for euros but still not great. My mother is half Polish/Belorussian, so her 50 some percent Russian/Finnish makes sense. Her other half is Danish, German and some moderate ashkenazi. So...

Interesting how they got that 50%. Mine is nonsense so maybe it's just hit or miss with some people. Based on your dad's, I'd guess he came from England or a western euro country.

My father is American of 1/2 German ancestry and another 1/2 I'm not Entirely certain of...his mother was adopted as an infant. Based off genetic results of my father, she Probably was primarily or entirely NW euro in her ancestry, if I had to guess. My father's mtdna group is H3...so no huge hints there, but again, most likely she was pretty heavy on the NW euro.

I wonder what is triggering the "Balkan" scores in both of them. When I saw my mom's, I just thought maybe her north slavic ancestry was responsible for that (due to some common general east euro connection), but my dad scores even slightly more of it than she does.

I've noticed particularly English people getting "Balkan" on wegene and dna.land. I haven't looked into it but it might be more than just noise

I do notice that English folks score a lot in the French category here...and often little in the actual English category. We gene always has my mom score some more English than my dad- this no doubt is due to her Danish side. The French category seems like a proxy for dna aboriginal to the British isles.

That's true, English people score a lot more French than French people Anyways, I'd put a lot more faith into gedmatch calculators (Eurogenes K13 and MDLP K23b are my personal favorites).
