GED Match and DNA land: Uttar Pradesh,Bihari and Bengali DNA?

His Y matches too. It might be a relative, considering so far my Uncle's NE Euro has been higher then the Caucasian component, something I haven't seen with myself or other relatives harrapaworld results where it is the opposite. My uncle's ancestor's are from Gilani village, I'm sure paternally this 23 and me user's ancestor's are from there too.

Since his mtDNA matches mine I'm sure we are also related within 3/4 generations through the female side. Bihari Syed families are extremely endogenous after all.

His haplogroups are J-L88.2 (seems close to mine) and his mtDNA is M3a1 (which seems to be the same as you).

I know that my mum's side were more culturally aligned with Awadh (in terms of cuisine and tehzeeb) and we used to only speak Bhojpuri to the villagers who worked on our land. We spoke Urdu (or Hindustani as it was known before) among ourselves.

Here is what was written in the district gazetteer for Saran (which included Siwan during the British Raj) a century ago:

Awadh makes sense. I know there are many Shia families from Saran/Siwan so there would have been some links with Awadh. I know Sadaat e Rizvi families are from there. I guess ancestral migration for those families must have been from UP Ashrafs as opposed to Sufi Saints.

Purvanchal is also just adjacent to Awadh, parts of it belonged to the Nawabs of Awadh initially although it was later ceded to Britain.

One of my relatives was from Awayan, Ballia, UP but he was also related to my family in Harihans. He went to Nadwa college in Lucknow after my great great granduncle Syed Mohammad Sami died in 1918.
