    Interesting, they look very similar.

    Kumhrar park:

Remains of a Ashokan era pillar that used to stand in what is now Kumhrar park, 2250 years ago

The bulk of the Ashokan era pillar, unfortunately I couldn't see any trace of its inscriptions as it had been worn away:

Artifacts which were found in this archaeological site by the ASI:

There are some rather grand looking temples:

I think Reza would recognise this kind of landscape, it is probably quite similar to Bangladesh?.

    Great photos deuterium.

Very similar to Bangladesh during the dry season - though during the monsoon - much of the landscape can be covered in water. Great that you have memories of historically relevant places - I hope to do that when I visit Bangladesh next - assuming it's not too late.

The translation of the grave stone above is a little difficult due to some weathering, especially right at the bottom but I think it reads:

    Allahu Akbar

    Morhum [The deceased]

Haji Sheikh Muhammad Yar Ali Shaheb

Mrittu [Death] - 7th Joishtho 13?0 Shon [year]

    I(ngreji) [English calendar] - 21st May 1973 Shal [year]

    Roj Shombar [Monday]

Does that tally up with what you know?
    Paternal; Y-DNA: R1a-L657> Y6> Y11> Y920*

Yeah it is important to preserve these memories. The mansions and temple looks like they are from 19th Century or early 20th Century, I am not sure.

Whereabout in Bangladesh are your family from?.

This seemed a little hard to read but for most things you can use Google translate with a camera. I've used to in Europe, Thailand, and Karnataka. Works good.

It is quite faint however, I doubted that Google translate could have picked it up.
