New version of U152 Haplogroup Panel coming soon

Thomas Krahn at yseq.net is in the process of updating the U152 haplogroup panel test. While I haven't seen the whole test, I do know the Z49/Z68 section is getting 10 additional SNPs to what is seen here.

If you don't currently see a SNP you would desire, email him at shop@yseq.net so he can add it to the new version.

I assume the current SNPs in the U152 panel are all phylogenetically relevant? And I assume additional SNPs should be phylogentically relevant aswell, right?

Probably best to contact Thomas Krahn directly with your questions.

I can say that in my section of the tree (downstream of Z49) the SNPs he was adding were newly discovered branches e.g. my current terminal SNP branch was only discovered 6 months ago and it's being added to the new U152 panel. And he's doing his own analysis because the SNP he chose to add for my current terminal branch wasn't the same ones used by Yfull, FTDNA, or Alex Williamson to name this branch. They all chose FGC12384 and/or FGC12385. He chose FGC12393.

Judging by the panel's haplotree, the SNPs he uses are all phylogenetically relevant and that makes sense.

I asked Yseq about PF4363 inclusion on the U152 pack

"PF4363 is not in our R1b-U152 panel because it's in a region that's 98.5% identical to the X chromosome. According to the ISOGG tree PF4363 is supposed to be phylo-equivalent to CTS7193.2, which we have available: https://www.yseq.net/product_info.php? products_id=2873 However this SNP was also observed in haplogroup J2, so it may-or may not be reliable. The region around PF4363 and the sequencing traces look clean and reliable though."

I have emailed Yseq and asked "So what is the best way to include an snp around PF4363 on the pack or is this not possible?"

Looks like 30 additions to the old test

I am very pleased to see my semi-private SNP A14637 included in the update. That will help us identify new members of this rare Scandinavian BY3604 subclade. Thomas told me that they added it after it was included in Alex' Ytree.net.
If only FTDNA would be just half as fast...
    Thanks to Yseq!

Yesterday I wrote to YSEQ to ask to update the R-S22778 branch according to my FGC Y Elite 2.1 results.
I also asked to add to the R1b-U152 Superclade Panel FGC6057, a SNP they have already in their SNP portfolio and that also partially defines my YFull terminal sublcade.
They have already done both things.
    Thanks a lot YSEQ!
Now R-S22778 people have something new to test at YSEQ. Hope they will take this opportunity.
