I'm adopted by the way, I know my birth mother and her background, the DNA tests have helped give me an idea about the dad which he put on the birth certificate as Irish, French

    Maternal: H(H17)

Supposedly, I'm British(English), Ulster-Scott and some type Of German. The surname was Ruff which came from Hesse, another one Schoffel from Baden and even another one Messer, a French Huguenot/German Palatine one Transou. And the SSA comes from her side which started with one of my Ulster-Irish ancestors who was a planter(plantation owner) In the Carolina's, ended up producing with a Lumbee Black/Indian women probably a free slave originally or one in general.

    Paternal: I-M253

    Irish, Northern France

That's all I know about him lol

my eye color:Green blue(the first picture the lighting Is horrible so they look darker and so does my skin which I'm lighter)

Phenotype: Borreby, Alpine, which a lot of other genetic forums classified me as

    Meta-ethnicity- Germanic, Celt

Anyways, so what do you guys think from these two site results and the information I gave(picture etc etc and surnames)? And to the mods, If I did put this In the wrong area can you move this for me thank you.
Well it can't really tell what your mixture might be, but we can compare it to populations from modern boundaries... I'd say it looks most similar to English tests I've seen. Whether this is a result of various ethnic backgrounds merging together and landing on an average, or having a lot of English ancestry, I can't tell

FamilytreeDNA, had me at 36% Scandinavian with a high amount of British isles too. Those other surnames, I gave are from actual information the German like side came to South Carolina and started one of the Lutheran churches there. At least that's what a distant cousin told me .Also Iv'e talked to people on DNA company websites and they claim It's hard to tell the difference from English, German, Dutch, French people It's what they claim. Whether It's true or not who knows that's why I came to this forum lol

Ravens119, unfortunately, you're probably going to get clobbered by a mod soon, as that sort of pseudo-scientific phenotyping and mug shot "what is my ethnicity" doesn't go down well here on this more sensible forum. But mug shots and phenotypes apart ... I'd totally agree with my friend Sktibo above. Your AC results are almost English - but a little more Continental, I suspect some French / Dutch / German, or something. The West African is also strong enough to take seriously as being "real" rather than noise.

Also I got rid of the pictures "mugshots" just in case before It happens, my bad for adding stuff like that.

Go figure I actually am descended from Colonist In Virginia, Carolina's. So English/British, German like(German, Dutch) and French sound about right then like I stated at the start of the thread ? and the SSA is from what I said up at the top and other DNA places have It at traced region, so who knows but oh well, thanks for replying Norfolk! I appreciate it.

German is problematic, it's not really one ethnicity. Every test has problems with it, I suspect because Germans are so incredibly varied. There's really nothing to prove or disprove German, but I think it's safe to say you're part English, likely a good chunk

Norfolk is a good reliable information source on this forum, you can usually trust what he says and if he's not sure he'll note that
